Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about IPBot pricing.

Is IPBot really free?

Yes, the public API is free under a fair-use policy. No credit card required. Pro packaging is reserved and not self-serve yet.

What are the rate limits?

Anonymous traffic is capped at 60 req/min. Free API keys support 200 req/min. Pro is reserved at 600 req/min and can include RDAP contacts when explicitly authorized. All limits reset every minute.

Do I need an API key?

No, you can start immediately without any setup. Sign in with GitHub to get an API key for higher limits and usage tracking.

Can I use it commercially?

Yes, the free tier can be used for commercial and indie projects under fair use. Larger deployment packaging is not finalized yet.

What request and account data is processed?

IPBot does not build lookup histories or user profiles. It processes client IPs for requests and rate limiting, keeps bounded operational metadata, and stores GitHub account and API-key records when you sign in. See the Privacy Policy for details.

What does the risk score mean?

IPBot combines network identity, proxy indicators, threat feeds, and trust evidence. The result is an explainable model score, not a calibrated fraud probability.
